Haiti and Natural Disasters...

Certainly no group of people really can, but talk about a country that CAN'T afford a disaster of this magnitude! Haiti has already been destroyed socio-politico-economically (on purpose, oh yes, do your research) and now they get bashed in the head with this high power earthquake+aftershocks. Are they even meaningfully recovered from the FOUR hurricanes that hit the nation in 2008? It's like it's Natural Disaster Central. Pray they truly get the help they need in this time of need. And no more disasters for a long while; something I wish for all, including myself here in Jamaica, which has been very very fortunate in this respect, comparatively, for decades...

Off on a related tangent:
If you think about it, calling natural disasters "Acts of God" comes from pagan mythology where if, let's say, an earthquake smashed your village back into the Stone Age, it was because you SOMEHOW "angered" the God Of Earthquakes (Poseidon for example). So he/she throws a little fit over the insult to his godhood - Maybe y'all didn't sacrifice enough virgins this year or something - and stomps on you in his mighty-god kind of way.

Now how does THAT belief system match up with the Benevolent True God Christians worship, pray tell? Basically, I think the "Acts Of God" phrase for death-dealing, property-destroying, sorrow-making occurrences like these, which are really NATURAL processes some humans just happen to be in the way of, is a very toxic idea-portrayal of Him.

The implication about the kind of God God is from that wording is a load of old nonsense.

But that's just my opinion - still sure I'm not wrong...

The Known Universe: Now THIS Is What I Call A Head Trip

Really focus on what you're seeing as you watch this. If you do, this video is sure to FRY YOUR BRAIN - like an omelette… like bacon… like KFC! At least it did mine :-) God went WAY overboard with this whole Universe deal, seriously. (lol)

Gives a WHOLE NEW UNDERSTANDING of Isaiah 40:15: "Look! The nations are as a drop from a bucket; and as the film of dust on the scales they have been accounted. Look! He lifts the islands themselves as mere fine [dust]."
